EOS Ventures, LLC Power Purchase Agreement Brief
A Power Purchase Agreement, or PPA, is a long-term agreement to buy power from a company that produces on-site electricity. EOS Ventures, using its own source of capital, builds renewable energy technology installations (solar and wind) on our customer's site and maintains and operates the installation (also known as “facility”). This installation, or facility, generates reliable, long-term clean energy for use by our customer. EOS has established a variety of PPA options, spanning in duration, to meet the unique needs of each of our customers.
Under the terms of a PPA, EOS assumes the risks and responsibilities of ownership as we design, engineer, install, own, operate, and maintain the facility. EOS takes the responsibility of operating and maintaining the facility, providing preventative maintenance services and repairs, monitoring the energy production and the system at large. Our customers operate their businesses, without any of the issues associated with owning an on-site power plant, while enjoying the benefits of lower cost energy and the pride of being green.
At the end of the PPA term, the facility can be purchased by our customers the PPA can be renewed on favorable terms, or the facility will be removed at our expense. The PPA enables our customers to benefit from the use of "green" energy, while still receiving the benefits of ownership (lower and/or "hedged" electricity costs, positive public image, etc.) and allows them to spend their capital budget on their core businesses.
